National Junior Honor Society

Sponsor: Tammy Montel and Julie Hill

Description of the club: The National Junior Honor Society (BLPA Grades 7-8) is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding middle level students. More than just an honor roll, NJHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship.  Students in NJHS meet monthly (after school) throughout the school year and learn valuable leadership skills by developing group service projects and running their own meetings.  In April, letters of invitation to potential inductees are issued.  The application process includes a lengthy application as well as faculty recommendations.  New members are inducted into the society in May in a joint induction ceremony with NEHS.

Meeting Days and Times: Meet second Tuesday of the month after school.

Where you meet: Room 231

Middle School or High School: Middle schoolers inducted (6-8)
