High School Cheer
BLPA Spirit Practice Starts August 27th
Practice Monday - Friday 3:30-4:45 PM in Cafeteria. There will NOT be practice on early release days.
Hello, my name is Brianna Dorrell and I am the coach for BLPA Spirit. I love working with the middle school and high school spirit teams because every practice is a new opportunity to discover the diverse talents our athletes bring to the teams. Cheer is a unique sport because in order to succeed, we require a diverse bank of individual skills. During the season, we will work on the athletic requirements of cheerleading through practicing cheers and chants, tumbling, strength and flexibility, endurance, dance, and stunts. We will also work on our personal skills for cheerleading through practicing teamwork, respect, honesty, responsibility, and school spirit. I encourage student athletes to model positive character throughout the school day and out into our community; my expectations include spreading positive messages, raising school spirit, and modeling enthusiasm throughout our campus.
When I am not coaching or teaching science at BLPA, I enjoy tending to my gardens and playing with my pets; My zoo includes one turtle, three cats, five chickens, two fish, and two honeybee hives.
