Coach’s Bio

Coach McKenzie attended Liberty High School in Colorado Springs, CO where he competed in multiple sports including football, basketball, track & field, and boys’ volleyball. Coach McKenzie played four years of varsity basketball where he was a 4x All-Conference and 3x All-State player. He graduated from Liberty as the school’s all-time leading scorer, a record that still stands today. After graduating from LHS, Coach McKenzie played two seasons at Otero Junior College where he led the team to a 30-6 record, a school-first Region IX Championship, and the Elite Eight of the National Tournament. Coach McKenzie completed his final two seasons at Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO where his teams won 20+ games, were nationally ranked and earned a spot in the DII National Tournament. He graduated with a BA in Business Administration. Coach McKenzie spent his next two years working as an assistant coach at Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD. The Wolves led the country in attendance and made it to the DII National Tournament during his time with them. Before leaving South Dakota, Coach McKenzie earned his M.S. Ed in Sport Performance and Leadership. Coach McKenzie has worked as a skill development coach and trainer, running camps and training players all over the country. Coach McKenzie lives in Colorado Springs with his wife and two daughters. He is in his second year as the head coach of the Stallions
