8th Grader, Erik Le Roux, wins Junior National Cross Country Race

Erik Le Roux simply ran away from the field in 13-14 Boys, just as he has run away from every other field he has faced this fall. Le Roux finished the 4000 meters in 12:16.4. That was a comfortable 11 seconds ahead of second place.. .Link to article here.

OUR PHILOSOPHY OF ATHLETICS

Athletics at Banning Lewis Academy are considered an integral part of a student’s educational experience. The goals of the program are to give all students the opportunity to:

  • Develop skills and knowledge of game strategies and rules
  • Collaborate and compete with others
  • Compete with a positive attitude towards themselves and others

Participation in athletic programs contributes to good sportsmanship, teamwork, character building, physical development, coordination, and interest in sports. Interscholastic sports competition exemplifies the value of discipline, hard work, fair play and being a team player.

It is a privilege to participate in interscholastic athletics; therefore greater expectations exist for those who represent Banning Lewis Academy, within their respective sports programs. Our staff wants to encourage all students to participate in athletics at Banning Lewis Academy.

To be academically eligible, they must have a passing grade in all classes. A fee of $55 exists for all sports except for football which is $85.:

High School Training Room/Weight Room Upgrades – The BLPA athletic training room has been improved with the purchase of a new ice machine. This allows our athletes to receive care and recovery throughout the sports seasons.  The machine was purchased through a Colorado Health grant program and coordinated by our Health and Wellness committee. In addition, the high school weight room has been improved with the following changes: New sit-fit balancing cushions, chalk station, decline sit-up bench, music sound system, and elastic stretching bands. All of these items were purchased with fundraising dollars and grants. I encourage your son and daughter to start investing in the weight room.  Go Stallions!
